Does apple music offline music play on apple watch when the iphone is not around?

Hi,

I understand that Apple music works when Iphone is around and connected with the Apple watch, but when I go on a run I do not wish to take my phone with me. Am i still able to listen to my offline music from Apple music from my Apple watch when I don't have my Iphone around? (like left in the house)
